Face Your Fears

When you encounter something that makes you uncomfortable, that flight or fight kicks in and you want to hightail it out of there or move your thoughts in another direction. Run, run, run away.
There are times in your life when you want and need to overcome a fear so you can move to a new dimension.
Let’s look at what the behaviorists say about conquering fear.  They say the brain can edit memories to erase fear. For example, someone is afraid of dogs, that person might slowly start to spend more time with them, until their fear subsides.
Once you are willing to work and move through your fears, you will get to where you want to be.
Once you understand how you can dissipate fear, it shrinks and is no longer a threat.  So, let’s look at some examples you can use.
Write about your fear and its origin. How has it held you back in the past? Set aside time and without judgment, reflect on what you’ve written. You gain insight and loosen fears grip by observing it. When you write down your fear, fear loses its power over you.
Relax your jaw, soften your forehead, open your fists, slow down your pounding heart, and breathe. Take mini relaxation breaks throughout your day. Learn to live in a relaxed state.
Laugh often and out loud at your fear.
Change the fearful stories of the past that you tell yourself.
You can find safety by learning to live in the present moment.
You can create new stories about the positive expectations of the future.

When you get to where you’re going, all the road blocks will have vanished and any challenges you may encounter are there to propel you to victory!
